Migraine

Watercolor on watercolor paper and acrylic on glass, 10 1/4 x 12 1/4″, framed in a Nielsen Bainbridge silver metal frame, created in 2006. This painting is a self portrait collage. The hole in the skin is a hole in the main piece of watercolor paper with shattered pieces of glass painted red placed behind it. On the pieces of shattered glass there are words written – all the things that cause Gayle’s migraines such as stress, sick dad, job, menstruation, etc. This painting was one in a series of collages Gayle made from 2003-2006 showing various internal workings of the body.

Here’s a picture of it with me so you can see what size it is!
