Watercolor on watercolor paper, 8″ x 4.5″, unframed, mounted on acid free foam core, and comes inside a protective plastic sleeve.
This was painted in 1992 just after Gayle moved to New York City. Having grown up in the country and spent very little time in cities, she was intensely moved by the plight of homelessness people. She painted two portraits in this reflecting her feelings of sadness about them and concerns that she might end up in the same situation if she couldn’t make a living!
